Interactions
The Channeled Whelk is a primary consumer. It interacts with its own species when it mates. They release pheromones into the water to attract a mating partner. The Channeled Whelk has competition with other whelks such as the invasive species; rapa whelks and also crustaceans such as lobsters and blue crab for food. [2]
